Scan a shelf or ISBN
Choose Scan shelf for a camera or selected photo, or use Scan ISBN while adding a book. Keep spines upright, reduce glare, and capture readable titles.
ShelfSweep 1.1 supports iPhone and iPad on iOS or iPadOS 18 and later.

Recognition creates editable drafts, not final facts. High-confidence results are separated from items needing review; compare each result with the photo before saving.
Use Check to search by title, author, or ISBN. A possible match is shown for review; ShelfSweep never buys, orders, or deletes a book automatically.
Add a borrower label and optional due date. If you enable notifications, reminders are scheduled locally on your device. ShelfSweep does not read Contacts.
JSON backup is free. Pro adds CSV, PDF, and ZIP. Files are created locally and go only to the destination you choose in Apple’s share sheet.
Open Settings → Restore your library. Select a ShelfSweep JSON or ZIP backup, review its counts, then Merge new books or Replace the current library.
ShelfSweep 1.1 migrates the 1.0 JSON library format. Older JSON files do not contain embedded cover images; current complete JSON and ZIP backups do.
Open Settings → ShelfSweep Pro → View lifetime unlock. ShelfSweep Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase. Restore purchases is available in Settings and on the purchase screen.
If no text is recognized, try a brighter, straighter photo or add the book manually. If the camera is unavailable, enable Camera access in iOS Settings. If notifications are off, due dates remain but alerts will not appear. If a backup is rejected, confirm it is an unmodified ShelfSweep JSON or ZIP file and export it again from the source device. A conflicting active loan must be marked returned before Merge, or restored with Replace. If the Pro product cannot load, confirm App Store access, then use Restore purchases.
Delete individual books inside the app, use the local data controls in Settings, or remove ShelfSweep from the device. Exported files remain wherever you chose to save them.
Include ShelfSweep version 1.1, your iPhone or iPad model, OS version, what you expected, what happened, and the steps that reproduce the issue. Do not send private library exports unless you choose to.
