Private bookshelf utility

Catalog a shelf without sending it anywhere.

Scan a shelf or ISBN

Use the camera, scan an ISBN barcode, or select a shelf photo. Apple Vision processes recognition on your iPhone or iPad.

Review uncertainty first

High-confidence drafts are separated from items needing review. Edit title, author, ISBN, and shelf before saving.

Work naturally on iPad

The split library layout keeps your collection and selected book details visible side by side, with Dynamic Type support.

Back up and recover

Preview JSON or ZIP backups, then merge without duplicating books or replace the library after complete validation.

Useful free tier, one-time Pro unlock

Free users can add up to 30 books, complete three shelf scans, enter books manually, check duplicates, track lending, schedule reminders, and create JSON backups. Restoring an existing ShelfSweep backup is never truncated; if a restored library exceeds 30 books, Pro is required before adding more. ShelfSweep Pro Lifetime unlocks unlimited additions and scans plus PDF, CSV, and ZIP exports. There is no subscription.

Designed around a clear privacy boundary

Your library is stored locally. Shelf photos are processed on device and are not uploaded to the developer. ShelfSweep has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, cloud AI, social feed, or developer backend. Public help pages and Apple’s StoreKit service require internet access when used.

Does ShelfSweep work offline?

Core library, recognition, duplicate-checking, loan, and export features work without an account or app server. StoreKit purchases and public help pages need a network connection.

Is recognition always correct?

No. Spine layouts, lighting, fonts, and partial titles vary. ShelfSweep treats recognition as an editable draft and asks you to review results before saving.

Can I restore an older backup?

Yes. ShelfSweep 1.1 accepts the earlier JSON library format and current JSON or ZIP backups. A preview appears before you choose Merge or Replace, and validation finishes before the current library changes.
