Plain-language summary
PantryTurn is a local-first iOS app. It does not require a developer account and does not send pantry records, photos, recognized text, barcodes, dates, costs, outcomes, reminders, exports, identifiers, diagnostics, or usage activity to the developer. The developer operates no PantryTurn backend.
Information collected and data we do not collect
The app does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location, Contacts, camera images, photo-library contents, food records, advertising identifiers, analytics, crash reports, or tracking data. Information you enter is stored locally for the features you request.
Permissions
Camera: requested only after you choose Use camera, to capture one label for on-device recognition. Photos: Apple’s PhotosPicker shares only the image you select; PantryTurn does not request full-library access. Notifications: optional and requested only after a neutral explanation when you enable a local expiry reminder. PantryTurn does not request Contacts, Location, Microphone, Health, Bluetooth, Local Network, or App Tracking Transparency permission.
Local and cloud processing
Apple Vision performs text and barcode recognition on the device. PantryTurn does not upload or retain the scan image. Inventory, outcomes, custom zones, settings, and reminder choices remain in the app container. Files are generated locally. There is no cloud AI, cloud sync, developer database, or remote account.
Purchases and payment handling
PantryTurn Rotation Toolkit is a non-consumable in-app purchase. Apple’s App Store and StoreKit process payment information, purchase history, storefront pricing, and restoration. PantryTurn receives entitlement status but does not receive or store full payment-card details. There is no subscription or external payment flow.
Sharing and third parties
PantryTurn contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, social, third-party AI, cloud-storage, or crash-reporting SDK. A JSON backup, PDF rotation report, or CSV rotation table leaves the app only when you choose a destination in Apple’s share sheet. Apple services and the chosen destination then handle that transaction or file under their own terms.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete records, choose Delete all local data, or remove PantryTurn. Pending PantryTurn reminders are removed when you delete all local data. Exported files remain wherever you saved them. Apple retains purchase history under Apple’s policies.
Children’s privacy
PantryTurn is a general-purpose household utility and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other user.
International transfers
Pantry records and scan content are not transferred to the developer or a developer server. Apple services and any export destination you choose may process information under their own regional and privacy terms.
Policy changes
We may update this policy if PantryTurn’s behavior changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material app-data changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy disclosure.
