VoiceBrief AI Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026. Last updated: July 20, 2026.
VoiceBrief AI is local-first for recording and transcript storage. AI brief generation is cloud-backed and runs only after the user reviews an in-app disclosure and explicitly chooses Allow & Generate for that request.
Information collected
Local app data may include recording files, transcript text, brief titles, summaries, decisions, action items, and export files. This data is stored on your device.
For an AI request, the VoiceBrief AI service receives transcript text, locale, app version, bundle identifier, a newly generated random request identifier, subscription product identifier, and an Apple-signed StoreKit transaction. These are used only for subscription verification, security, and generation of the brief requested by the user. Audio files, contacts, precise location, photo library content, advertising identifiers, tracking data, and analytics events are not collected.
Permissions
Microphone permission is used only when you start recording. Speech recognition permission is used to create transcripts with Apple's Speech framework. The app does not request camera, contacts, location, health, or tracking permission.
Local and cloud processing
Version 1.0 does not upload audio. Transcription uses on-device recognition when available; if it is unavailable or does not finish, the recording remains saved for manual transcript entry. Tapping Generate always identifies the data and recipients, including before subscription. Viewing or purchasing Pro sends nothing. After subscription, the app presents the disclosure again, and only Allow & Generate authorizes that single AI request. Choosing Not Now sends nothing, and permission is not stored.
The VoiceBrief AI service is hosted on Cloudflare Workers, operated by Cloudflare, Inc. It receives transcript text, locale, app and build identifiers, a newly generated random request identifier, subscription product identifier, and an Apple-signed StoreKit transaction to verify the subscription and process the request. It sends transcript text, locale, and the random request identifier to Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd. (DeepSeek), a third-party AI provider, to generate the requested summary, decisions, action items, and follow-up draft. The Apple-signed StoreKit transaction, subscription product identifier, app identifiers, and audio files are not sent to DeepSeek. Purchases are processed by Apple; VoiceBrief AI never receives payment card details.
We require Cloudflare and DeepSeek to use user data only for the stated App Functionality purpose and to provide the same or equal protection described in this policy and required by the App Store Review Guidelines. We will stop sharing data with a provider that cannot meet this requirement.
Retention, deletion, and consent
Local recordings and briefs remain on your device until you delete them, delete the app, or erase the device. The VoiceBrief AI Worker does not persist or log transcript text or the StoreKit transaction after returning the requested result. DeepSeek may temporarily cache API input while providing the service; its published API documentation states that unused cache entries are automatically cleared, typically within a few hours to days. A new random non-personal request identifier is generated separately for every AI request.
Because permission is requested separately for every AI request and is not stored, choosing Not Now keeps the transcript local and withdraws permission for that request. To request access to or deletion of data from a prior AI request, email support@vshia.com; we will coordinate the request with the applicable processor. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to respond and satisfy legal obligations.
Children, changes, and contact
VoiceBrief AI is not directed to children. We may update this policy when the app changes. Contact support@vshia.com for privacy or support questions.
