The app uses the system Photos picker. A selected video is copied into the app's private storage so the project can keep working after the picker closes.
Use Files for common audio and video formats. If a provider gives temporary access, Subtitle Artisan copies the selected item into app-managed storage before processing.
Microphone access is requested only when you choose Record. If permission is denied, enable Microphone access for Subtitle Artisan in iOS Settings and return to the app.
Speech models are downloaded from a public model host. Keep a stable connection and enough free storage. A failed download can be retried from Model Management.
If transcription fails, verify the source contains an audio track, choose the correct spoken language, and retry. The Apple Speech fallback runs only when the device supports on-device recognition for that language.
Open a completed project, review the cues, then choose Export. The system share sheet controls where the generated SRT, VTT, TXT, or video file goes.
Pro is a single non-consumable purchase. Use Restore Purchase on another device signed in to the same Apple Account. Prices and payment are handled by Apple.
Subtitle Artisan does not upload your selected media or transcript to the developer. Initial speech-model and optional language-resource downloads require a network connection.
Open All Projects, delete the project, and confirm. App-managed source media for that project is removed when it is no longer referenced.
The free tier exports SRT, timestamped TXT, and plain TXT. Pro adds VTT, bilingual SRT, and burned-in video when the source and device support those features.
