Permissions
Microphone permission is used only for recordings you start. Speech Recognition permission supports the optional Apple on-device fallback. The system Photos and Files pickers grant access only to items you choose.
Privacy
Subtitle Artisan
The developer never receives or stores your recordings, videos, audio files, caption text, project history, account data, analytics data, or advertising identifiers.

Data we do not collect
Subtitle Artisan has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking SDK, developer backend, or cloud transcription service. The developer does not collect user content or usage analytics through the app.
Local storage and processing
Selected media, downloaded models, projects, captions, and exported files are processed or stored locally in app-managed storage. You control deletion in the app or by removing the app.
Downloads, Apple services, and third parties
Speech model files are downloaded from Hugging Face or another public model-hosting endpoint used by the selected model. Your media and transcript are not included in those model-file requests. The host may process standard network request information under its own policy.
Apple processes App Store purchases. Apple Speech and Apple Translation may download system language resources and perform supported recognition or translation on device. The developer does not receive payment-card details or translated text.
Sharing
A subtitle or video leaves the app only when you deliberately choose a destination in Apple's system share sheet. The destination you choose then handles the file under its own policy.
Retention and deletion
Projects remain on the device until you delete them or remove the app. Temporary export files are removed after sharing closes. Downloaded models can be removed from Model Management.
Children
Subtitle Artisan is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect children's personal data through the app.
International transfers
Because the developer does not receive user media or transcripts, the developer does not transfer that content internationally. Public model hosts may process ordinary download requests in other regions.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
