Choosing and sampling a photo
Tap Choose Product Photo and select one image in Apple's system picker. Tap the area whose color you want to compare. PaletteCard averages a small area around that point to reduce single-pixel noise.
Manual HEX entry
Enter a value such as #B47479. HEX entry remains available when you do not want to select a photo.
Reading the comparison
Nearest swatch is based on Lab color distance. Lower Delta E values are closer. The app also reports whether the sampled color is lighter, darker, more vivid, or more muted.
Saving a decision
Choose Buy, Consider, or Skip, enter an item name, and optionally add a price and note. Open Decision History to edit or delete it.
Exports
Tap Export in Decision History. PaletteCard creates PDF, PNG, and CSV files locally, then opens Apple's share sheet so you choose where they go.
Troubleshooting
If a sampled color looks wrong, choose a well-lit image without filters and tap an evenly colored area. If an export fails, confirm the device has free storage and try again.
Color comparison limits
Photos, lighting, screens, white balance, materials, texture, and finish can change how a color appears. The comparison is a mathematical reference, not a personal color diagnosis, beauty assessment, or guarantee that an item will suit you. Check the physical item when accuracy matters.
Does PaletteCard work offline?
Yes. Palette creation, photo processing, comparison, saved decisions, and export creation work without an account or app server. Public help links require internet access only after you tap them.
Does PaletteCard identify my color season?
No. You provide the palette. The app compares product colors with those swatches and makes no face, beauty, health, or seasonal diagnosis.
What access does PaletteCard request?
It uses Apple's system photo picker, which provides only the photo you explicitly select. The app does not request broad photo-library access, camera, contacts, location, health, microphone, Bluetooth, or notifications.
