Is my journal data private?

Yes. All journal entries are encrypted on your device using AES-GCM before being stored. We never read or transmit your diary content, except when you explicitly request an AI reflection — and even then only the minimum required text is sent over an encrypted connection.

How does the AI reflection work?

When you tap "Get Reflection", the text of that entry is sent to our secure relay server, which asks an AI model to generate 1–3 reflective questions based on your writing. The content is never stored on our servers and is not used for training.

Can MindJournal replace professional help?

No. MindJournal is for journaling and self-reflection only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, therapy, crisis counseling, or emergency services. If you may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel at any time through the App Store:

How do I restore my purchase?

Open MindJournal → tap the upgrade banner → tap "Restore Purchases" at the bottom of the paywall screen.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

All journal data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app permanently removes all entries. We recommend using the Export feature (Premium) to back up your data before uninstalling.

Face ID / Touch ID isn't working

Go to Settings → MindJournal and make sure Face ID (or Touch ID) permission is enabled. You can also toggle the lock setting off and back on inside the app's Settings tab.
